Attending the ceremony included former Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Le Thanh Hai, Deputy Secretary Vo Thi Dung, Head of HCMC Commision of Mass Mobilization Nguyen Huu Hiep, President of Vietnam Fartherland Front Committee – HCMC To Thi Bich Chau, Deputy Chairwoman of HCMC People’s Council Truong Thi Anh, Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Huynh Cach Mang, Deputy Head of the Supreme Patriarch Council of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, etc.

Monk Thich Tri Quang read a message from the Most Venerable Thích Phổ Tuệ, supreme patriarch of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha: it is so proud of great contributions of Lord Buddha to the nation, dignitaries, monks and nuns, members of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha who always raise the spirit of “intelligence, disciplines, integration, development” with ceaseles efforts in developing Buddha religion, making contributions to the great solidairty of people and national construction and protection, bringing happiness, prosperity and peace.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. To Bich Chau – President of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee – HCMC conveyed her congratulations to domestic and international dignitaries, monks and nuns. She said that over the lat 26 centuries, The Gautama Buddha was born with a message of bringing peace to the human, who took mercy, gentleness and compassion to educate the humans. For over 2,000 years, Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has accompanied the process of nation construction and protection. The examples of serving Dharma and people in many years even in the most challenging times has helped create values for Vietnamese people.

Mrs. Chau expressed her belief that dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers with spirit of patriotism will accompany people of HCMC to strengthen solidarity to successful implement patriotic movements organized by local people and HCMC Fartherland Front Committee, accompanying the Party and people of HCMC to build civilized-modern-sentimental city with better living quality.
