In the evening of September 20, Standing Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem attended and gave a speech at the celebration ceremony of 69th National Day of The People’s Republic of China (1/10/1049 - 1/10/2018).
In his opening speech, Mr. Liem expressed his delight at witnessing good results between Vietnam and China. HCMC and localities of China have paid special attention of expansion of cooperation in fields of diplomacy, politics, economy, culture, people to people exchange.
Nowadays, HCMC has established friendship and cooperation relations with 8 localities of China. China is now the 19th largest foreign investor in HCMC. Mr. Liem added: “HCMC hopes to continue promoting bilateral cooperation with localities and business community of China, making it more effective and bringing practical benefits to both sides”.
For his part, Chinese Consul General Ngo Tuan said: Vietnam-China relations has been well-developed and continuously expanded. This relation is now entering a new period of cooperation with many important achievements, the friendship relations between both countries’ people have been deepened. Since 2017, two-way trade between Vietnam and China has surpassed US$ 100 billion. 2019 will celebrate the 69th anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations, Consulate General of China, HCMC and related departments and agencies will continue strengthening cooperation, expanding people to people exchange to bring Vietnam-China relations to a new height.
