Belgian Ambassador visits HCMC

On March 7, Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Van Khoa received Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam Jehanne Roccas on her working visit to HCMC.

At the reception, Mrs. Jehanne Roccas said the multi-faced co-operation relation between Belgium and Vietnam has resulted in positive results. Belgian investment capital in Vietnam reached 500 million Euro, the Government of Belgium is encouraging Belgian enterprises to strengthen their investment in Vietnam in the coming time, especially in fields of education and training.



Regarding to co-operation programs between HCMC and Belgium, Mrs. Jehanne Roccas said Balteau BAM (Belgium) has signed a co-operation agreement with Sawaco to build a sludge treatment factory for Tan Hiep water plant, Hoc Moc District, to provide clean and high quality water, reducing the amount of toxic sludge and preventing pollution back to canals and river in Hoc Mon.



Mr. Le Van Khoa expressed his belief that with support of Ambassador Jehanne Roccas, there will be more Belgium enterprises coming and investing in HCMC in particular and in Vietnam in general, saying that HCMC is always welcoming Belgian investors, he also hoped that Belgium will become a big consumption market of seafood and agricultural products of HCMC.
