Bank-Business Connectivity Program: VND 60 trillion ready for loan in 2015

On January 26, HCMC Department of Trade and Industry coordinated with The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV)-HCMC Branch, to organize a summation ceremony of Bank-Business Connectivity Program in 2014 and implementation of assignments in 2015. Attending the ceremony include Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Mrs. Ho Thi Kim Thoa and Vice Chairwoman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong.

 

At the ceremony, Mr. To Duy Lam, Director of SBV’s HCMC branch said the Bank-Business Connectivity Program in 2014 has provided low interest loans to 1,143 customers with a total amount of VND 40,057 billion, exceeding VND 20 trillion as planned and as of target of HCMC.


The program has organized 31 signing events with interest rate for loans of 7%-8%/year for short-term loans and 10%/year for medium and long-term ones.


In  2015, the program will provide loans with total amount of VND 60 trillion, an increase of 50% compared to 2014; focusing on support solutions and removing difficulty for enterprises; applying short-term lending rate by VND less than 7%/year and 9%/year for medium and long-term loans; expanding to other participants of the program.


Sharing experience of bank-business connectivity, Mr. Nguyen Tho Truyen, Thu Duc District’s People Committee, said in 2013, People’s Committees at Ward levels organized networking with local enterprises to grasp demands of loans, coordinating with banks to meet their demands. In 2014, Thu Duc District has organized 4 signing events with 84 enterprises and 8 business households with a total amount of VND 1,6 trillion. In 2015, Thu Duc will expand this program to landlords.


Chairman of People’s Committee of District 8 Bui Ta Hoang Vu noted that the program is now a reference channel of District 8 with participation of departments, sectors to support enterprises and to show responsibility of businesses. District 8 now has over 1,500 businesses but almost are small sized business households, there are about 1,383 business household able to get loans with a total amount of VND 130 billion.

To make the program effective, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Dung, Deputy Director of Viettin Bank suggested that People’s Committees of districts in HCMC should allow and create favorable conditions for bank branches to participate into conferences with voters, listening to ideas of voters on economic development and to work out suitable solutions.
