Awarding 28 Vietnam’s most favorite brand names 2014

“The campaign of Vietnamese people use Vietnamese products” has deeply penetrated into social lives, not only improving awareness of Vietnamese people on giving priority to consumption of Vietnamese products but also achieved positive changes of consumption habits and shopping behaviors in HCMC. The selected results thanked to efforts and contributions of Vietnamese enterprises in focusing on investment, product innovation, capacity improvement to produce high quality products with various designs, reasonable price. These efforts provided more choices for consumers, giving them peace of mind and trust in shopping or using services of super-markets or shopping centers.

Deputy Chairwoman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong highly appreciated strong growth of Vietnamese brand names at the ceremony of honoring and awarding “Vietnam’s most favorite brand names 2014” organized by Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper on January 20.


According to the organizing board, the selected results were generated from 1,200 votes and assessed by Valuation Council from Sai Gon Giai Phong newspapers’ reporter team as well as consultation of Industries Associations. Totally 28 enterprises in fields of tourism, service, trade and manufacture are awarded “Vietnam’s most favorite brand names” 2014, of which 23 brand names are voted by readers in 5-9 consecutive years.


In field of tourism, 67, 4% consumers frequently accessing online tourism websites compare price, tours before booking. This is a significant change of consumers in 2014 compared to 44, 1% in 2013. In addition, the number of consumers paying attention to promotion programs accounts for 82,2%, 74,6% caring of prestigious brand names, 54% paying attention to professional tour guides, 49,8% paying attention to domestic destinations like Sapa, Ha Long Bay, Hanoi, Ninh Binh-Trang An.


In trade, 98,3% women go to super markets or trade centers at least 1 time/week because they think it is safe and has many promotion programs, 43,3% young consumers choose electronics centers for shopping because they can choose hire-purchase agreement with competitive price, etc.


Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong highly appreciated great efforts of Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper as a flagship role of propaganda activities for policy of Vietnamese people on giving priority to consumption of Vietnamese products” of the Central and other programs of HCMC. She also praised a strong corporate team who has maintained the dynamics, prestigious brand names chosen by Vietnamese consumers and contributing to the economic development of HCMC.


Besides 28 awarded brand names, Organization Board has awarded titles of Golden brands for 23 enterprises who remained on top list for 5-9 consecutive years.
