14 projects on various fields range from community healthcare to construction of small scaled infrastructure in provinces like Ben Tre, Binh Dinh, Ninh Thuan, Vinh Long, An Giang, Khanh Hoa, Tra Vinh, Ca Mau, Quang Nam, Can Tho and HCMC.

DAP is a community aid program with the aims of supporting individual, community organizations, non-governmental organizations an others, especially when these organizations can not be able to access to large-scaled aid programs.

Speaking at the granting ceremony, Mr. John McAnulty, Australian Consul General in HCMC shared many DAP funded projects have been implemented through Central and Southern Vietnam over the last 3 years, contributing to improvement of livelihood of local people. In particular, many children in rural areas can wash their hands by clean water taken directly from water filter system funded by DAP.

DAP is part of the Australian Government’s large-scale aid programs in Vietnam and allocated by The Consulate General of Australia in HCMC. The program aims to address humanitarian hardships through funding small-scaled projects. Average value of a projects is US$ 10,000 with a condition that the projects must be sustainable.

According to Mr. John McAnulty, applications for aids are very big, so process of selection is very competitive. DAP is a part of the Australian Government’s large-scale non-refundable aid programs in Vietnam, which will provide about AUD141 million for 2014-2015 fiscal year. The goal of DAP is to address humanitarian hardship through funding small-scale development projects.
