On September 6, the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AmCham Vietnam) HCM City Chapter organized the AmCham Scholarship 2014 Information Session.

This year, the AmCham Scholarship program will award 45 scholarships valued at VND10 million each, 15 scholarships valued at VND4 million each and 180 ACCA Foundation in Accountancy scholarships valued at VND5.5 million each to students from 11 universities in Ho Chi Minh City who are in their third year and above of the 2014-2015 academic year and have good academic performance, fluent communication in English and active participation in extracurricular activities.

Candidates apply online at www.amchamscholarapp.com. The deadline for Group 1 (Foreign Trade University, Banking University and Hoa Sen University) is 9pm on September 27 and for Group 2 (HCM City University of Law, HCM City University of Technical Education, University of Technology, University of Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Economics and Law, University of Information Technology, International University) is 9pm on October 4, 2014.

The annual AmCham Scholarship program is part of AmCham’s community development effort in Vietnam, especially support of education. The program aims to provide opportunities for students to prepare for professional working environments. Apart from financial support, AmCham scholarship recipients will also have the chance to be involved in certain AmCham activities, to join the AmCham Scholars Alumni/ae (ASA) Club and to be recognized by nearly 500 AmCham members.

From the beginning in 2001 with 10 scholarships and 3 university partners, after 13 years, AmCham has awarded a total of 360 scholarships and 206 honorable mention awards to students from 11 universities in HCM City.
