On June 15, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received Mrs. Meirav Eilon Shahar, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Israel to Vietnam on her visit to bid farewell.
At the reception, Mr. Phong highly appreciated her contributions in her term in Vietnam, congratulating her to excellently finish her tasks to contribute to the well-developed Vietnam-Israel cooperation relation.
Mr. Phong affirmed the city always attaches importance to cooperation and friendship relation with Israel. This has been presented through mutual visits of both sides’ leaders, investment promotion programs and trade exchange activities. Today Israel has 12 investment projects in the city worth US$ 7.5 million. Mr. Phong expressed his hope that any any position, Mrs. Meirav Eilon Shahar will continue promoting the well-developed cooperation and friendship relation between Vietnam and Israel.
For her part, outgoing Ambassador Meirav Eilon Shahar thanked the State and Government of Vietnam in general and HCMC’s leaders in particular for creating favorable conditions for her to finish her term in Vietnam.
Highly appreciated HCMC’s development, Mrs. Meirav Eilon Shahar said Israeli enterprises are showing their interest in investment environment in HCMC, expressing her belief that many Israeli companies will come to seek investment opportunities in fields of education, technology, industry, agriculture, etc. in the coming time.
Mrs. Meirav Eilon Shahar stressed Israel is willing to share its experience in business with HCMC to turn HCMC into a city of business startup and creativity.
