A strongly developed Vietnam-France relation

On July 14, on behalf of HCMC’s leaders, Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem attended and gave speech at the ceremony to mark 226th French Independence day (14 July 1789-14 July 2015).

In his speech, Mr. Le Thanh Liem congratulated French people community in HCMC and affirmed Vietnam-France relation has been strongly and continuously developed in many fields in accordance with both sides’ strategic partnership. Two way trade in 2014 increased by 10, 6% at 3, 4 billion Euro. In the first 6 months of 2015, two way import export quota between HCMC and French partners is estimated at US$ 320 million. France has now 163 projects in HCMC worth US$ 832 million, ranked 9th out of 71 countries and territories investing in HCMC. Co-operation between HCMC and Rhone-Alpes region has been strongly developed.

French Consul General in HCMC Emmanuel Ly Batallan thanked representatives of foreign consulates general and leaders of HCMC for their presence at the ceremony, saying that the ceremony not only marked the Independence Day of France but also the good friendship and solidarity relation between Vietnam and France.
In the atmosphere of solemn friendship, Mr. Le Thanh Liem, Mr. Emmanuel Ly Batallan together with guests drank a toast to National Day of France, congratulating the continuous developed Vietnam-France relation.
