July 12, Union of Friendship Organizations, Vietnam-France Friendship Association organized a get-together to celebrate the 229th Independence Day of France (14/7/1789 - 14/7/2018).
Chairwoman of Vietnam-France Friendship Association in HCMC Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung said Vietnam-France relations have strongly developed in almost fields of politics, economy, culture, society and people to people.
She affirmed that the association has successfully played the role of linking bridge between people of both countries, coordinating with Government of Vietnam to effectively implement community projects, giving financial support to poor households, helping disabled children and victims of Agent Orange, building schools with total amount of VND 2 billion in 2017.
French Consul General in HCMC Vincent Floreani highly valued the role of Vietnam-France Friendship Association in strengthening Vietnam-France cooperation relations. He expressed his commitment to strive to complete the task of strengthening Vietnam-France Friendship relations, contributing to the good cooperation relations in fields of trade, investment between Vietnam and France as well as bringing practical benefits to people of both countries.
France is now one of leading European economic partners of Vietnam, ranked 3 out of European countries and 16 out of 114 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. The friendship and cooperation relations between HCMC and France have strongly developed. France has now 188 investment projects worth US$ 994.6 million in HCMC. HCMC and locations of France have implemented many projects in fields of urban planning, training, lighting projects, social projects, environment, agriculture, etc.
