On May 22, HCMC organized a ceremony to inaugurate the new street named after former secretary of HCMC Party Committee Vo Tran Chi in Binh Chanh District. Attending the ceremony included former President Truong Tan Sang, former secretary Le Thanh Hai, Standing Deputy Chairman Tat Thanh Cang, Deputy Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thu, etc.
The approach road named after Vo Tran Chi starts from Tan Tao (Binh Tan District) to Cho Dem junction (Binh Chanh District) has a total length of 9, 6km and a width of 22,2m (including a 4.5km section crossing Binh Tan and a 5.1km section crossing Binh Chanh). The road is designed with allowed speed of 80km/h, including four lanes for private motored vehicles and two lanes for two wheeled vehicles, total investment capital of the project is VND 793 billion.
It is known that Mr. Vo Tran Chi, born in May 22 1927, died in November 16 2011, was Secretary of HCMC Party Committee from 1986 to 1996.
