On November 30, the 8th session of the 10th HCMC Party Committee’s Executive Board officially opened in HCMC. Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Dinh La Thang chaired the meeting.
The two-day event (November 30 and December 1) focused on evaluating the achieved results of the first year of implementation of the Resolution of the 10th HCMC Party Congress and the Resolution of the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The event also proposed solutions and continuous implementation of action programs of the Resolution of the 10th HCMC Party Congress and the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The 8th session has discussed and evaluated the results, new elements of administrative reform, improvement of management efficiency of local authorities, construction of clean and transparent administration system. It also discussed how to cut down the workforce, reorganize apparatus and build HCMC a smart city in the coming time.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, Vice Secretary of HCMC Party Committee cum Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee presented the report of HCMC’s Civil Affairs Committee on the implementation results of the Conclusion No 49-KL/TU of the Party Committee (session X) on social-economic-cultural development missions and budget revenue and spending 2016, missions and key solutions in 2017
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong said the city’s economic growth rate enjoys a slight increase with GRDP of VND 1,037,625 billion, up 8, 05% compared to the same period and equal to 8-8, 5% of the year’s plan. Budget revenue reaches VND 303, 816 billion, equal to 101. 85% as planned and up 10, 8% compared to the same period. The total social investment capital reaches VND 310, 250 billion, accounting for 30% of GDRP; 111 projects have been put into operation with total capital of VND 19, 815 billion
Regarding to targets and solutions in 2017, the city is expected to achieve 9 targets, up 7 targets compared to previous years including establishing 50,000 new enterprises (including conversion of individual business households), budget collection achieving 100% of the plan. In addition, the city will effectively implement solutions and policies of the Central Government, carrying out the program of improvement of growth quality and competitiveness, developing industrial and service products with high content of science-high technology, hi-tech agricultural products, and development of ecological agriculture. The city strives to achieve a GRDP growth rate of 8, 4%-8, 7%, creating harmony between growth and macroeconomic stability, ensuring social security.
