This year’s award themed: “digital technology accompanying with civilized and modern city” aims to promote construction of HCMC a smart-civilized-modern-sentimental with better living quality.

The award attracts participation of HCMC IT Association, HCMC Semiconductor Industry Association, Vietnam E-Commerce Association, Vietnam Electronic Business Association (Southern Office), Vietnam Automation Association, Vietnam Mechanical Engineering Association, HCMC Business Association, HCMC Young Business Association, universities and research institutes, etc.

Speaking at the awarding ceremony, Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong said IT-Communications sector is one of typical startups. IT-Communications is now one of the fastest growing sectors of the city with an average growth rate of 16, 5% in the period of 2011-2015. The sector has attracted the world’s leading firms. Mr. Phong said world’s models of startups started from IT-Communications sector. These are unique models of IT application that can be able to expand and achieve speedy growth rate.

Mr. Phong requested HCMC Department of Information and Communications to quickly review and propose suitable policies for development and application of IT products into management and business activities and into administrative reform of the city, creating the so-called Vietnamese high quality brand for IT sector.
