On December 11, Vietnam Union of Friendship Associations, Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association of HCMC jointly organized a ceremony to mark the 82th birthday of Japanese Emperor and National Day (December 23 1933-December 23 2015).
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association of HCMC Nguyen Cong Tanh said Vietnam-Japan friendship relation has been continuously developed in recent years, bilateral economic co-operation between both countries has been deepened, both sides have set up 5 action plans till 2020 and vision to 2030. Co-operation in defense, security, agriculture, science-technology, education-training, culture, sports, tourism, environment, etc, have achieved practical results.
Currently Japan ranks 6th out of foreign countries and territories investing in HCMC with 800 projects, some typical projects include Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien urban railway, Tau Hu-Ben Nghe canal water treatment project, West East Highway, etc.
Thanks to people of Vietnam, Japanese Consul General in HCMC Nakajima Satoshi said the ceremony not only shows the respect to Japanese Emperor but also presents a close relationship between Vietnam and Japan in all fields. He stressed both countries have been regularly exchanging high-profile visits or at locality levels to promote bilateral co-operation at all levels. Especially, at the official visit of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to Japan in September, both countries issued joint vision statement on Vietnam-Japan relation. It is a clear proof of deep and wide relations between both countries.
