On January 31, HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations held the celebration of 65 years of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the Czech Republic and Slovakia
Speaking at the celebration, Mr. Le Hung Quoc – President of HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations reviewed historical marks of Vietnam-Czech Republic and Slovakia. In February 2, 1950, Czechoslovak (now Czech Republic and Slovakia) was the 4th country in the world establishing diplomatic relations with The Democratic Republic of Vietnam
Vietnamese peoples always keep in mind support and valuable assistance of people and Government of formerly Czechoslovak (now Czech Republic and Slovakia) in the past centuries. Formerly Czechoslovak and now Czech Republic and Slovakia have supported Vietnam to train thousands of scientific cadres in fields of economy and technology, especially mechanical, light industries. Many of them have become key officers holding important positions. In the last 65 years, friendship and co-operation relations between Vietnam and Czech Republic and Slovakia have been continuously strengthened and broadened to many fields.
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Czech Republic to Vietnam Martin Klepetko affirmed the celebration of 65th anniversary of Vietnam -Czech Republic diplomatic relations opens many new opportunities. He said that both countries have specific strengths, co-operation of both countries in the last 65 years achieved good results. He believed that friendship relations between both countries will be more practical in the future.
Slovakian Ambassador to Vietnam Igor Pacolak expressed his hope that on the traditional relationship between Vietnam and Slovakia, this relationship will be more developed from Central to local levels, especially between HCMC and big cities of Slovakia.
