Attending the ceremony include Deputy Secretary of HCMC Party’s Committee – Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Tat Thanh Cang, Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Herminio Lopez Diaz, Cuban Consul General in HCMC Garcia Valido, representatives of ministries, departments, agencies, Vietnamese enterprises ,members of Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association, etc.

Addressing at the ceremony, Mr. Tat Thanh Cang stressed: “In the heart of every Vietnamese people, Cuba is always a flesh and blood brother, a pride and a revolutionary flag with full mettle of socialism. We always keep in mid the immortal words of President Fidel Castro which said for Vietnam, Cuba is willing to devote its blood. Vietnam always keeps in mind the solidarity, precious support of Cuban People for Vietnam in the war time, as well as in the process of construction and development of the country.

We are delighted at the good relation between both countries in the recent years with mutual visits of both sides’ leaders. The good results of these visits and joint statements are the clear proofs for the determination of the Parties, Government and Peoples of both countries to maintain, to strengthen solidarity, support and comprehensive co-operation between both countries.

Mr. Cang affirmed HCMC with a role of economic center of the whole country always considers the mission of maintaining solidarity and brotherhood between Vietnam and Cuba as its own. With Cuba’s positive changes in its economic policies, businesses of HCMC and of Cuba can strengthen co-operation in fields of hi-tech agriculture, consumer goods, mechanical engineering, infrastructure, etc. HCMC is always working closely with Cuba in every phase of development. He hoped that both countries will make efforts in bringing the relationship to a new height for mutual benefits, suitable with the new trend of peace, co-operation and development in the global scale.


Mr. Bernabe Garcia Valido revealed that Cuba and Vietnam since establishing diplomatic relation always maintain a good relation. The peoples of both countries have been connected as one big family, both share and support each other in every tough time for mutual benefits. He expressed his belief that the young generations of Cuba and Vietnam will continue to further deepen the friendship and comprehensive co-operation between both countries.

At the ceremony, Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association – HCMC has awarded the best entries of a painting context themed “Vietnam-Cuba Friendship”.
