On behalf of the city’s leaders, Mr. Huynh Cach Mang congratulated achievements of Singapore in the last 53 years, saying that these have become a symbol of prosperity and international example of urban development. He added that Vietnam-Singapore relations have been continuously developed in the last 45 years (1973-2018). HCMC is proud of making important contributions to the well-developed Vietnam-Singapore cooperation relations through implementing many effective cooperation programs in all aspects.

In the past years, economic cooperation is one of the bright spots between HCMC and Singapore. Singapore continuously maintain as the largest foreign investor and the 2nd largest trade partner of Vietnam in many consecutive years.

Singapore has now over 1,000 projects in HCMC with total registered capital of US$ 10.6 billion. Typical projects including Vivocity, One Hub Saigon, Saigon Centre, etc. have helped promote the city’s urban development. Other activities like education, culture, society have been regularly organized to strengthen mutual understanding between people of both sides.

Singaporean Consul General Leow Siu Lin affirmed the well-established relations between Vietnam and Singapore, including HCMC have been consolidated through practical cooperation in many fields. Singapore would like to cooperate with HCMC in fields of urban development and application of smart technology in urban planning, etc.
