On March 9, leaders of HCMC met with writers and artists awarded State title: People’s Artist and Artist of Excellence of 2015. Attending the meeting include Mr. Dao Van Lung – Director/Head of standing Central Propaganda Department in HCMC, Mrs. Than Thi Thu – Head of Propaganda Department of HCMC Party’s Committee, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thu – Vice Chairwoman of HCMC People’s Committee.
At the meeting, leaders of HCMC congratulated 50 excellent writers and artists awarded State title. In 2015 alone, 50 artists of HCMC were awarded the State title, of whom 03 People’s Artists, 31 Artists of Excellence and 16 People’s Artists of Excellence, especially 3 members of family of Dang Hung artist including Dang Hung, Vuong Linh and Linh Nga were honored in 2015. Especially, in 2015, Hoai Linh artist become the first overseas artist to be awarded the title of Artist of Excellence.
Addressing at the meeting, Mrs. Than Thi Thu noted the 3 titles honor efforts, talent and contributions of writers and artists, saying that it is the honor, pride of not only each artist and writer but also an honor of HCMC – a young city with numerous cultural values nurtured by many generations, a convergence of talents in fields of art and culture of the whole country. Mrs. Thu expressed her belief that the titles will add more energy to writers and artists, encouraging them to make more efforts to be deserved with the titles.
On behalf of writers and artists, People’s Artist Dang Hung affirmed: “The titles of People’s Artist, Artist of Excellence and People’s Artist of Excellence awarded to me and my colleagues today is not only recognition but also a big encourage from the Party and the State for us in our career”.
