In the evening of April 5, Permanent Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem attended a reception on the occasion of 45 years of Vietnam-Australia diplomatic relations (1973-2018).
At the reception, Mr. Liem expressed his delight at witnessing well-developed friendship and cooperation relations between Vietnam and Australia. This relation has been upgraded to strategic partnership. Australia is now the 8 largest trade partner of Vietnam with two-way trade of nearly US$6.5 billion in 2017, up 22,2% compared to 2016.
Australia has now 176 investment projects in HCMC worth US$ 184 million. The cooperation project between universities of HCMC and Australian partners are under implementation.
Mr. Liem expressed his belief that Vietnam-Australia relations will further develop and achieve fruitful results in the future.
