Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Huynh Cach Mang said Vietnam-Russia friendship and cooperation relations have been continuously developed, especially since being upgraded to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2012. This is a favorable condition for HCMC to promote cooperation relations with localities of Russia. Specifically, HCMC has established friendship and cooperation relation with Moskva, Saint Peterburg, Vladivostok, Svetlov. In 2016, export value of Russia to HCMC increased by 58% compared to 2015 staying at US$ 146 million.

Mr. Huynh Cach Mang expressed his hope that Consulate General of Russia in HCMC will play the role of linking bridge for Russia and HCMC, as well as for a closer and deeper Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.

For his part, Mr. Alexey Vladimirovich Popov, Russian Consul General in HCMC thanked Vietnamese authorities and peoples for their love & congratulations to National Day of Federation of Russia. Agreed on the well-developed Vietnam-Russia relation, Mr. Alexey Vladimirovich Popov said this relation will be further fostered through mutual high-profile visits of both countries’ leaders.
