On October 1, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of establishment of Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone (Tan Thuan EPZ) Mr. Tsao Chung Hung, General Director of Tan THuan EPZ said Tan Thuan EPZ has so far attracted 192 enterprises from 20 countries with total investment capital of US$ 1, 8 billion.
181/192 enterprises at Tan Thuan EPZ have increased their investment capital. Total export volume of Tan Thuan EPZ reaches US$ 3, 8 billion. Together with development of HCMC, Tan Thuan EPZ has shifted from attracting labor intensive industries to high-tech industries such as semi-conductor, information technology, etc. Products of Tan EPZ have been exported to 43 countries around the world.
Regarding to development orientation of Tan Thuan EPZ in the near future, Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem requested that Tan Thuan EPZ should focus on developing hi-tech industries; supporting industries; upgrading technical infrastructure; improving living quality of workers; shifting from labor intensive industries to processing, manufacturing to create products with high added value.
Related organs need to provide positive support for Tan Thuan EPZ to offer one door policy, create favorable conditions for investors to implement their projects, solve any problem that arises and attract more investment sources.
At the anniversary ceremony, Tan Thuan EPZ Company was honored with Certificate of Merit and national flag by HCMC People’s Committee in recognition of its contributions to the common development of HCMC.
