Speaking at the anniversary, Mrs. Barbara Szymanowska, Polish Ambassador to Vietnam, said May 13 marked the 225th anniversary of Polish National Day and the 66th anniversary of Vietnam-Poland diplomatic relation. Poland always considers Vietnam as it’s an important partner and a trusted friend. Both sides’ relations have continuously developed in many fields of politic, economy, culture, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Cuong, President of Vietnam-Poland Friendship Association sent his congratulations to Polish people on the important day, wishing them prosperity and happiness. He stressed Vietnam and Poland both have suffered historic struggle for freedom and independence, Vietnamese people in general and people of HCMC in particular always attach sincere affection and gratitude to people of Poland for their support in the fight for independence, construction and protection of the nation.

According to Mr. Cuong, Vietnamese people who lived and studied in Poland always attach deep affection to Polish people. For them, Poland is their second home. They themselves and tens of thousands of people living and studying in Poland are considered as linking bridge for well-developed Vietnam-Poland Friendship & Co-operation Relation

In 2014, two way trade of both countries reached US$ 1, 3 billion, the figure in 2015 enjoyed an increase of 17%. Poland is a big economic partner of Poland in Eastern Europe. With achieved results in the last 66 years, Poland will continue to strengthen economic-trade-investment co-operation with Vietnam, with TPP, Vietnam opens many opportunities for Poland to penetrate into ASEAN market.
