HCMC People’s Committee has set up a plan on handling environmental pollution in the city.

The plan aims to redress environmental pollution, to build a green and clean living environment, to build HCMC a modern-civilized-sentimental city with better living quality, and to say no to environmental pollution in residential areas in 2020.

According to the plan, in Phase 1 (2015-2016), the city will draw a roadmap and measures to deal with factories or production facilities that cause environmental pollutions, announcing the list of factories/establishments that cause seriously environmental pollutions.

For the Phase II, (2016-2017), HCMC will thoroughly handle violations of environmental pollution, issue decisions on relocation and approve financial policies, incentives for relocated establishments, control and monitor the progress of relocation, encourage establishments/factories to abide by the common policies of HCMC.
