On January 20, HCMC People’s Committee held a ceremony announcing that 100% of households in HCMC can be able to access to clean water.
After 3 years of implementation of guidance of HCMC Party Committee and resolution of HCMC People’s Council on taking care and improving living quality for local citizens, the city has completed its clean water supply project with 1, 926, 136 households accessing to clean water, equal 10 100% of households. The additional households are provide with clean water are 499, 400, equal to 26% of total number of households in the city.
With 100% of households accessing to clean water, 92, 39% of them are provided clean water through network solutions, the rest 7, 61 through solutions including installation of water meter, water supply station, reservoirs, filter equipment. Therefore, the city continues strengthening clean water supply in 2017 to ensure all households including additional households can assess to clean water. Specifically, the city’s clean water supply project in 2017, 2018 and 2019 will include an additional 994, 2 km water network worth VND 3, 451.5 billion for more than 142, ,373 households in districts such as 12, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi.
